It's all about us in the press today!

Another bit of coverage!

My favourite bit is:

"Plymouth City Roller Girls’ Charl Shred told the PRSD: “Our time at the centre has been short but dirty-sweet and this event will be a day not to be missed. PCRG needs your screaming faces to power the wrecking ball that is your league through the stone-cold bodies of three other teams! Bring your hard hats, wear safety gear, and identify your exits, because when the Derby is through, there won’t be much of a building left to demolish!"

PCRG in the press

It's great to see the faces of our fresh new recruits in the local paper! You can read it here: The Herald on PCRG's Fresh Meat.....I will admit that having a phone with a journalist on the other end thrust into my hand while at the pub was slightly unnerving, but forunately I didn't say anything too ludicrous!

PCRG are getting about...

2012 is shaping up to be an eventful year for PCRG already! We have attended bootcamps, road tripped to Cardiff to play the wonderful Tiger Bay Brawlers' B-Team, and most recently met up with our close neighbours Cornwall Roller Derby and Kernow Low Down and Derby for a training session with TBB's BB Bombshell.

We were super chuffed that we got to have a training session with BB before she moves back to Oz and here we all are with her (wrapped up warm in the coldest hall in the world!).

So thank you CRD for putting on such a fun training night!

PCRG would like to wish BB Bombshell all the best in her journey home and with Victorian Roller Derby League

HOLLER ROLLER DERBY FANS!!

Last October we gave you a taste of the good stuff. You laughed, you cried, it changed your life. Be honest, you’ve been itching to get track side again, and we cannot wait to strap on our boots and game faces and do it all over again!!

Plymouth City Roller Girls are setting up for another smash-happy, bone-crushing afternoon for your viewing pleasure, promising bigger spills and bigger thrills than ever before! To give the Mayflower Centre the send off it deserves we have arranged a powerhouse of four teams to showcase 4 mini-bouts for all you beautiful people. We are going to be doing a bit of demolition ourselves in celebration! Our time at the centre has been short but dirty-sweet and this event will be day not to be missed! You thought you caught the show in October; well this will be the place to be if you want to have your PPE knocked right off with some fierce derby sport action. PCRG needs your screaming faces to power the wrecking ball that is your league through the stone-cold faces of 3 other teams!!

So bring your hard hats, wear safety gear, and identify your exits, because when we are through, there won’t be much of a building left to demolish!!!!! We are being joined by the fierce Romsey Rollerbillies, the powerful Kent Roller Girls and those sultry demons the Bristol Harbour Harlots! Those are some serious miles being covered to bring you some hot-wheeled action so let’s show them how it’s done, Plymouth style!!

Doors will open at 12pm; first game will roll off at 1pm. Here’s how the programme is looking:

1pm-1:30pm GAME A

15 minute break

1:45-2:215 GAME B

30 minute break

2:45-3:15 LOSERS GAME

15 minute break

3:30-4pm WINNERS GAME

The A and B game line-ups will be announced soon!

With stalls, food treats and all important derby merch to keep you occupied during those all important breaks we know you’ll want to stay with us throughout the whole glorious afternoon.

BUT WAIT, THERES MORE! As well as all these visual treats we will also be hosting a raffle!! Once again we will dig deep and get those must-have raffle prizes that will almost get you brawling in the stacks (notice I say almost people!) PCRG would like to support the organisation SEEDS with this raffle, SEEDS stands for Survivors Empowering and Educating Domestic Abuse Services and is a means by which survivors have their voices heard by those planning and providing domestic abuse services. If you would like to find out more about the organisation and what amazing services they provide, please visit their website at: http://www.seeds-uk.org/index.html. SEEDS are running a mobile phone collection drive in order to keep this organisation going, so If you bring along any old mobile phones you have we will exchange them for a free strip of raffle tickets on the day! Your old phone doesn't go to waste and would be supporting a wonderful charity, and it could win you something far more awesome!!

AS IF IT COULDN'T GET ANY BETTER! We will also be hosting some fun half-time games, so if you think you're the best egg and spoon racer that has ever been seen, or your three-legged running is unsurpassed, make sure you volunteer yourselves at half time!

We will be selling tickets at the very pocket friendly price of £8 in advance, £10 on the door. I know, absolute bargain right!!!

Details of where to buy tickets to follow very shortly. In the meantime, corner your nearest and dearest roller girl to get your tickets booked, come on, you know you want to!

SEE YOU ALL TRACK SIDE!!!!!!!!
